The Washington Post spoke with Jess Davis, a friend of the Copeland family, who says that the State Department is flying in two of Sean's brothers to retrieve Kim, Austin, and Maegan as they mourn the loss of Sean and Brodie.

The Copeland family was in France during a European vacation when Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel slammed a truck into a crowd on Thursday during the Bastille Day celebration, killing at least 84 people.

A GoFund me page has been set up for the Copeland family. Davis said State Department officials would accompany two of Sean Copeland's brothers when they fly to Nice to bring the family home. They were from the Austin area and were vacationing with other family members, according to relatives.

Lexmark spokesman Jerry Grasso described Copeland as "a terrific leader in the company".

"Nobody deserves this type of fate, especially not such a wonderful family", a memorial passage stated.

Hill Country (HC) Baseball, a sports club, posted: "This evening we would like to ask that the HC family keep the Copelands in your prayers.

We are working with local authorities to determine if other USA citizens were injured in the event", a statement released by the State Department this morning said.

"He and Brodie on the baseball field - that was Sean", Clark recalled of the dynamic father-son team. Our hearts go out to all of those in France and elsewhere who have loved ones lost or injured in this event, and we pray for each of you. "Rest in peace, Brodie and Sean, you will be remembered by many", wrote Paiz.

Haley Copeland wrote that the Copelands - from Lakeway, near Austin - were on vacation in Europe, celebrating a birthday.

Maegan Copeland, Sean Copeland's 29-year-old daughter, also was on the trip.

"The Bobcat community is deeply saddened by the Copeland family's loss during the tragic incident in Nice, France, on Thursday", said Texas State President Denise Trauth.

"We are aware that two USA citizens were killed in the attack".

The former mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, said in a tribute that France's police had lost "a great personality". According to the RIA Novosti news agency, she was with friend and fellow student Polina Serebryannikova, 22, when the truck crashed into them, the Moscow Times reported. Each mourner expressed sadness and shock at the heavy toll of what appears to have been a calculated attack on a holiday crowd. "I don't think we can make sense of that which is absolutely senseless", Pastor Mac Richard told the crowd at Lake Hills Church during Sunday's service. "And that's the message we've got to get out and to me that's the Brodie message", Harlow said. "But we turned around, ran in the same direction".
