Kanye West got emotional on Tuesday, with a message for his late mother, Donda, on her birthday. The rapper ended the tweet with "I love you mom", and attached an old photograph of him and his mom together and smiling.
West, 39, and wife Kim Kardashian are parents to daughter North, 3, and son Saint, 7 months. It's lovely the way that Kanye paid tribute to her.
When asked what he has had to sacrifice for his success, he shared: "My mom".
"If I had never moved to L.A. she'd be alive".
Nine years after Kanye West's mother, Donda West died, the rapper still holds a special bond with her. West was a scholar and professor whose professional career lasted 31 years, including time as the chairwoman of Chicago State University's English Department. West recently honoured her in his song "Only One", with further plans for a video game of the same name. "No one can tell you what field to stay in". "I appreciate what you allowed for me, I just want you to be proud of me", he sings on the chorus.
