Liar. Lucifer. Lock her up. GOP denounces Hillary Clinton

Donald Trump has officially clinched the Republican nomination for U.S. president as speakers hammered Democrat Hillary Clinton on day two of the Republican National Convention. Trump will close the convention with an acceptance speech Thursday night.

Christie proceeded to lay out multiple charges against Clinton with an emphasis on her time as secretary of state, from her decision-making in Libya to mishandling classified information.

Hillary Clinton on Wednesday asked American voters to make sure that her rival Donald Trump would never set his foot in the Oval Office of the White House, hours after the controversial billi onaire was endorsed by the Republican party to be its presidential nominee.

"We have an alternative".

Trump will replace the full-time federal employees with business people who will work part-time in government while keeping their private sector jobs.

"In the past few weeks, we've seen the Justice Department refuse to prosecute her. Over the last eight years, we've seen this administration refuse to hold her accountable for her dismal record as secretary of state", Christie said.

Clinton tweeted during Christie's speech, "If you think Chris Christie can lecture anyone on ethics, we have a bridge to sell you", in reference to the ongoing George Washington Bridge scandal.

There were no arrests, police said, despite several tense moments that saw officers step in between protesters pushing and shouting at each other during some of the biggest, most raucous gatherings in downtown Cleveland since the four-day convention began on Monday.

And they cheered when House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California opened his speech by declaring just how many days the president had left in the White House. The governor, who started to talk up his law enforcement background more as his campaign failed to gain traction, endorsed Trump after dropping out of the race in February and has become one of his most ardent advocates.

Playing off the crowd at one point, Christie replied, "Alright, alright, we're getting there".

"Of course, you're disappointed. If you compete for something like I did, you'd like to be picked", Christie said in an interview with Matt Lauer on NBC's TODAY. But "you take a deep breath, wake up the next morning and get on with your day".

Telling the crowd how Trump championed UFC before it was popular, he said: "The Donald Trump that I know... he shows up".

His son Donald Trump Jr described him as his best friend and role model. "A Hillary Clinton Supreme Court means your right to own a firearm is gone", Cox told delegates. "Why, even she lied about why her parents named her Hillary", McConnell said.

They booed when Speaker Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin suggested a favorite notion among Republicans: That electing Clinton would effectively grant President Barack Obama a third term.

Delegates at the Republican National Convention. Iowa delegate Cecil Stinemetz said he continues to believe Trump is "the worst nominee that we have put forward for the Republican Party in the history of the Republican Party".

Christie wasn't the only member of his family who played a part in the convention Tuesday.
