Without Brady, the Patriots are expected to start Jimmy Garoppolo for the first four games.
As soon as Tom Brady and the NFLPA added appellate attorney Ted Olson to their legal team in late April, it has looked as though the Patriots quarterback was ready to take his case against the National Football League to the Supreme Court if it came to that.
"I hate that Brady's not going to be there", Dareus told NFL Network on Wednesday. Obviously, the Patriots would rather have him miss the first four games.
The second US Circuit Court of Appeals in NY issued a terse ruling saying only that it had denied a petition filed by Brady and the NFL Players Association.
Since the 2 U.S. Supreme Court of Appeals has denied Brady's request for a rehearing, his only option now is to take the case to the Supreme Court.
Brady's only hope of getting his four-game suspension overturned is by taking his case to the Supreme Court. I play against him every year, and he knows I'm coming.
"We are disappointed with the decision denying a rehearing, as there were clear violations of our collective bargaining agreement by the National Football League and Commissioner Roger Goodell", the organization said in a statement according to ESPN.
"For him not to be out there just kind of tears me up a little bit, but the second time I see him, like, we going to be excited to play against him".
I talked about it here, but it appears we are nearing the end of the road for deflategate.
Call us insane, but getting a win over Jimmy Garoppolo doesn't have the same cache as getting the same win over the Patriots when Tom Brady is under center. I get up for him.
In regards to how this affects the Patriots on the field, I actually think this will help them in the long run.
In the history of temper tantrums, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is about to reach a heretofore unheard of level. That's because Dareus is actually sad he won't be able to take it to Brady in Week 4 of the season.
Garoppolo has been Brady's backup since he was picked in the second round of the 2014 draft, and the Patriots certainly want to see what he can do.
