Dianne Binns of the St. Paul NAACP chapter said police do not treat blacks civilly.

President Obama spoke about the shooting deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, two black men who were shot and killed by police.

Valerie Castile appeared on CNN this morning with Clarence Castile, Philando's uncle, and said she had previously spoken to Philando about how to survive being stopped by the police.

"Let me just say we have extraordinary appreciation and respect for the vast majority of police officers who put their lives on the line to protect us every single day", Obama stated.

LeBron James reacted to the killing of Philando Castile by police in Minnesota on Wednesday, saying the situation "sickens" him.

Hundreds of demonstrators braved the rain and gathered to protest the shooting outside the Governor's Mansion in St. Paul, where a crowd had also convened the night before.

In the video of the Minnesota killing, broadcast on Facebook Live and already viewed more than 1.7 million times, Reynolds says the vehicle was pulled over for a broken tail light. He made it clear that he believes the police officer acted on racist impulses.

In a emotional tribute, Zuckerberg expressed the hope that "we never have to see another video like Diamond's".

The interim police chief in nearby St. Anthony, Jon Mangseth, said he was aware of the Facebook video but did not comment on it.

The video shows Reynolds telling a worldwide audience that her companion had been shot "for no apparent reason" while reaching for his wallet. A gun was recovered at the scene. "I have so much admiration and respect for officers and the families of the officers who sacrifice themselves to keeps us safe", she later told Elle magazine of the controversy. "He was just getting his licence and registration, sir", Ms Reynolds calmly responds.

Castile was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, the statement said.

Relatives of Castile described him as a good, hard-working man who had been employed for years as cafeteria supervisor at a Montessori school in St. Paul.

Brown said snipers shot from "elevated positions" during a protest over two recent fatal police shootings.

According to the Star Tribune, Castile's court records show only misdemeanors and petty misdemeanors.

A spokesman for that agency could not immediately be reached. "I wanted the people to determine who was right and who was wrong", she said. Sterling was killed during an altercation with two white police officers.

The track, which debuted on Tidal, opens with the lyrics: "Punch told me I should drop it when Mike Brown died. Too often officers are taught to shoot first and ask questions last, and that's completely unacceptable".
