Rocker Joe Perry collapses on stage during performance

Perry, 65, was performing with his side project Hollywood Vampires, with Alice Cooper on vocals and Johnny Depp as a fellow guitarist, when he staggered off stage.

Guitarist Joe Perry staggered offstage and reportedly had a medical emergency in NY on Sunday night.

Joe Perry had a scary moment during a performance with supergroup Hollywood Vampires in NY over the weekend.

Perry's Twitter account posted early Monday morning that he was in stable condition.

Everybody's heartbeat stopped for a minute when they heard the news of the Joe Perry collapse. "FDNY and NYPD carried him off quickly", she added, referring to the New York City fire and police departments.

Audience member Kevin Phalon told NBC News the Aerosmith guitarist "sat down during the song and then walked off behind the drum set".

Concertgoer Philip Luppy, 52, said that later in the show, Cooper announced from the stage that Perry was sick.

"Thanks to everyone asking about our brother Joe Perry", Cooper wrote.

The band continued playing after Perry left the stage. The band, which includes Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp, played on - because that's what rock and rollers do.

Cooper and company cancelled a planned performance on US chat show The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday night (11Jul16), but none of their tour dates will be affected.

A publicist for Perry shared a message with which said, "Joe Perry is doing well and resting and appreciates all your good wishes".

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler tweeted, "Feel the millions of prayers coming your way".
