The images from weekend protests over the death of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, La., were disturbing.

A pawnshop burglary and a home raid by law enforcement on Monday are connected to an odious plot to kill police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Another man, 23-year-old Trashone Coats, was arrested for purchasing two of the stolen guns illegally on the street, but he hasn't been linked to the alleged plot, according to a police spokesperson.

Investigators say they believe that the suspects stole guns with the intent to use them to kill police officers.
