Prasad also said that 2,470 workers have shown interest to work for the party for one year while 1,441 have agreed to work for the party for six months and 3.78 lakh workers have agreed to work for 15 days.

BJP President Amit Shah is scheduled to address the participants during the day whereas Modi will deliver the address during the concluding session on Sunday. "Let us work to ensure that the BJP is in power-right from the panchayat to Parliament". The party's gold era, he said, will coincide with India's golden era and it will emerge as a great nation in the world. "Its golden era will arrive when it rules from panchayat to assemblies across the country and Parliament", he said.

The central government has also given Padma awards for the first time to many little-known people doing good work in different field and made selection process transparent, he said, while also lauding it for the passage of the GST bills.

The people of UP rejected family politics, caste politics and a "non-performing" government, he said referring to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who has been carrying forward his father Biju Patnaik's legacy. The BJP chief also expressed satisfaction that the party is gradually acquiring the second position in West Bengal. Shah himself will tour the country extensively for 95 days till September. Some 350 party members, including senior leaders such as LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Union ministers and chief ministers of 13 BJP-governed states will attend the meet.

Hitting out at opposition parties for raising the bogey of tampered EVMs, he said, 'We had though that parties who lost will do an honest introspection but now they are finding a scapegoat which is EVM. But actually, the BJP is yet to reach its peak.

The Prime Minister, earlier, held a roadshow in the state capital ahead of the meeting. He stepped down from his vehicle and walked on the road to greet the people.

Shah has given a clear signal in the executive meeting that the party would work relentlessly to grab the eastern state in the 2019 elections. The meeting is expected to pass political and economic resolutions on Sunday.
