Bandai Namco is re-releasing the original Tamagotchi with all the original features and pets. Well it looks like the 90s are making another comeback as Bandai has announced that it has relaunched the original Tamagotchi over in Japan. This rereleased original Tamagotchi is taking things back to the basics for the 20th anniversary, though it will be slightly smaller than the original.

When your Tamagotchi was being badly behaved (or you felt particularly cruel), you could discipline it.

The digital pet was released in Japan in 1996, before conquering the rest of the world a year later. These new Tamagotchi are half the size, and their screen dimensions and menu layout have changed a bit. They come in a variety of colors, and just like the originals, there are a number of different animals to hatch. Feeding and caring for the adopted creature ia mandatory, unless you want the pet to perish.

Pass the Dunkaroos. This Tamagotchi revival has put us in a '90s state of mind.

If you grew up in the 90s, there's a good chance you might have played the Tamagotchi toy.

They're now available on Amazon Japan for 2000 Yen which is the equivalent of around €17.

As expected, Tamagotchis are selling like hotcakes in Japan and only those who are lucky are able to get their hands on this prized gem.
