Pope Francis: we find hope in embracing our crosses with love

But the hustle and bustle of our lives makes it hard to step aside and listen, to listen to what God is saying to us.

Easter Sunday this weekend is the Christian holy day which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Jesus said, "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first" (John 15:18).

"We we really believe that in the Crucified Christ our hope is reborn", he said, but cautioned that "it is a different hope from that of the world".

Thus, he said, the Cross of Christ is the source of that unfailing hope which gives meaning and direction to our lives. Not as an empty symbol, but as a positive witness to the faith we not only believe, but which symbolises our way of life as servants of God and others. It comes precisely when Jesus himself could do no more but surrender his very life.

The darkness of sadness and death is changed into the light of joy, hope and new life. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is important as a testimony to the resurrection of human beings, which is a basic tenet of the Christian faith.

Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world at this time so lift the cross high because its shame has become the door to the salvation of all.

"We love putting on this event because we want to be part of the Deni community, " Deniliquin Baptist Church Pastor Chris Taylor said. The grave could not hold Him. (DEATH) 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: "for the LORD hath spoken it". "Where, O death, is your sting?" Paul ends his discourse on resurrection with these words: "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm".

In the 13th verse of I Corinthians, it reads, "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit".

It is hard willingly to live through next week with Jesus. To believe in the incarnation and not to believe in the radical physical character of the resurrection is a contradiction. And He is coming again!

James 1:17 "Every good and ideal gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows". It demonstrates that God accepted Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf.

Although he was innocent before God and man, he was condemned as a criminal and executed for crimes he didn't commit on the day we refer to as Good Friday. Today there are still people who never quite bought the story of the resurrection of Jesus because it is said that the wages of sin is death and Jesus was a sinless man. Jesus later proclaimed, "I am the resurrection and the life".
