Tish and Brandi were telling the truth, which was revealed today when Miley posted the video for her new single "Malibu", in which she's wearing the dress.
It seized the throne from Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee's "Despacito (featuring Justin Bieber)", which had ruled the chart since this past weekend.
It's no secret that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's romance has had its ups and downs.
In the meantime, look out for Cyrus singing "Malibu" at the Billboard Music Awards on May 21 (broadcast live from Las Vegas on ABC at 8 p.m.).
"Malibu" is clearly inspired by her relationship with her now-fiancé, "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth.
Cyrus reminisces in the song about her introduction to Malibu, one of the most celebrated beaches in the Los Angeles area, after overcoming fears of swimming.
Cyrus said she wrote "Malibu" - singing to herself at low volume - while taking an Uber auto to the set of television singing contest "The Voice", where she is returning as a coach.
"I never would've believed you if three years ago you told me", the 24-year-old sings on the track which acts as return to her country and rock roots.
The song is a major departure from her 2013 release Bangerz and that VMA performance. Possibly not since Alan Jackson admitted in song that he did not know the difference between Iraq and Iran has anyone baited doubters with an admission of naiveté quite like "I never went boatin', don't get how they are floatin'" or "You would explain the current, as I try to smile".
