Howard's career has plummeted since he awkwardly forced his way out of Orlando in the summer of 2012, so much so that his unexpected trade from the Atlanta Hawks to the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday was met with a collective "uh, OK?"
New general manager Travis Schlenk met with the media shortly before the start of Thursday's National Basketball Association draft to discuss his first big move: a deal that sent Howard to the Charlotte Hornets, while bringing little in return except salary cap relief.
She discussed the rebuilding effort, and says she understands the direction the franchise is going in, but believes that her brother was not a necessary move, and it may hurt the team's ability to sign big free agents in the future.
Last year, Atlanta selected Taurean Prince (No. 12 overall) and DeAndre' Bembry (No. 21 overall) with its first-round picks.
