Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Standalone Release Confirmed

Activision has revealed that Modern Warfare Remastered will be ready as its own standalone game on June 27, but there's a catch - that always present "first on PS4" phrasing. But lots of people wanted to buy Modern Warfare separately, and now that's finally an option-for forty bucks.

The confirmation comes after a source told Charlie Intel to expect Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered to arrive in a standalone version later this month. As for what the game includes, you will find the campaign and a total of 16 player maps. In fact, most people who got Modern Warfare Remastered with Infinite Warfare previous year ended up ditching Infinite Warfare pretty quickly and instead invested most of their gaming time into the remaster. Originally, the game was only available in conjunction with Infinite Warfare.

To celebrate the announcement, a new trailer was released. It will be released on other platforms at a later date. Xbox One and PC versions will be available later down the line.

It will be available on 27th June on the PS4 both physically and digitally and will cost you about $ 40. If that's more your style, you can preorder it now on the Xbox Store.

Now that we know the standalone Call of Duty 4 Remastered release is actually happening, it's time to look at what you get with this game. But many fans didn't like the sci-fi setting of Infinite Warfare, and that may have held Modern Warfare Remastered back.
