Nobody wants to replace Sean Spicer

According to The Telegraph, Bannon told a media outlet that Spicer had stopped doing press briefings on camera because he'd gotten "fatter".

President Donald Trump's spokesman said he hasn't asked his boss whether he believes the Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election, the consensus view of the US intelligence community.

However, when Spicer was missing from the White House press briefings for a long time in May, and deputy press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, covered for him, she discovered how reporters missed Spicer.

Ivanka Trump talks to Sean Spicer at the White House. He added that the White House press team is very available and that the briefing is just one avenue to be available to the press.

Pressed again for an answer - given that the heads of multiple agencies in the intelligence community, including former FBI Director James Comey, have said Russians definitely interfered in the election - he had a similar response.

And while Spicer has cut back on the number of televised press briefings, he is still on the payroll as both communications director and chief spokesman. We've been seeking input from people as far as what ideas they might have, we've been meeting with potential people that may be of service to this administration.

"The nice thing about turning the cameras off sometimes, and I find this, is that it is not 'performance art, ' as you call it, that you end up having, I think sometimes, a more substantive discussion about actual issues because they're not trying to get their clip", Spicer opined.

"I don't know if he's seen the legislation or not", Spicer said. I don't think that should come as a surprise.

"The former Federal Bureau of Investigation director said that without a doubt, the Russians -" the reporter said. "I can't stay mad at you if you're out of my sight for a couple of minutes because I lack object permanence", said Colbert in his Trump impression.

Several people expressed over Twitter that if the real Sean Spicer actually departs so will the Melissa McCarthy's Spicey SNL sketches. As per Politico and Bloomberg, the White House is reevaluating Spicer's role.
