The first set of free content will come in December, following the game's launch on November 17.

Details on the first season's contents will be disclosed in more clarity closer to release. The content drop in the first season will include the characters from the new films, such as stromtrooper-turned-resistance fighter Finn and The First Order's chrome-clad Captain Phasma, as well as a new planet, Crait, a space map above D'Qar, and more.

Here are the best game trailers from the EA showcase at E3 2017. In any event, we'll be updating this article with the latest news and surprises from the pre-E3 conference. All peripheral content is free to obtain, and the first bundle includes new characters fans have always been yearning for, namely Captain Phasma (portrayed in the films by Gwendoline Christie). According to EA boss Andrew Wilson, the developers considered all "constructive" criticism players had for the first game.

Several minutes of gameplay was shown toward the end of the 90 minute conference, indicating that like the previous Star Wars Battlefront it'll be visually spectacular. Star Wars Battlefront II will allow players to experience the untold story of Iden Versio, an Imperial elite special forces soldier, in an all-new single player campaign.
