A sex scandal involving All Blacks scrumhalf Aaron Smith has been revived by an Australian newspaper on the eve of the Bledisloe Cup match at the Olympic stadium, and a Sydney court is hearing a case concerning the discovery of a listening device in the All Blacks' hotel before a match in Sydney last season.

The toilet incident was sold by Smith as a one-off mistake, but the private Facebook messages between Smith and the woman reveal explicit details of their two-year affair.

"In what world that's okay for them to go into a commercial gym and discuss my sex life in a negative way, insinuating that I'm some sort of sexual predator, I just thought it was sick".

Today, the Kiwis finally ended the long-running espionage saga that was kick-started this time previous year as security consultant Adrian Gard was cleared of planting a bug to to record Hansen's team meetings.

All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has been looking for a settled midfield partnership since the global retirements of Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith after the 2015 World Cup and the Williams-Crotty axis was seen as their potential successors. "He's been outstanding and they wouldn't be putting him out there if he wasn't going to be at his best", Cheika said.

Teammates warned Smith to back off, the man claimed, and he alleged he also messaged Smith to stay away from his wife.

"I understand he was just really desperate at the time for this not to come out", she said.

That "resentment" needs to be utilised by the Wallabies in a positive way and they shouldn't need much motivation to get one over on their fiercest rivals.

"I'd firstly like to say a huge sorry to my partner Teagan, her family, my family".

The All Blacks waited for five days before calling in the police because they had hoped not to get the media involved. "We've never been sheepish about having a bit of cheeky fun", said's Communications Manager Will Byrne.

"Yeah look to us it's a really important cup, you know as All Blacks we don't take that for granted".

It is alleged Smith tried to make the woman sign a false affidavit to go along with a version of events he told All Blacks officials, a request she did not accept.

"I did say we kissed and u gave me h***, just to my coach but no sex OK.!"

"Last year, when I look at that game (42-8 loss in Sydney), I still believe that I overtrained them in the lead-up because I was stressed about their fitness".

Aaron Smith fronts the media in South Africa.

New Zealand fans will be pleased to see Williams champing at the bit if he is selected, as expected, to partner Ryan Crotty in the midfield on Saturday. "She is the real victim", she said.

The other woman told Ms Whitefield about the cheating herself after learning Smith wasn't single, revealing the couple had got together the night before a Super Rugby clash in Auckland at a team hotel.
