The Apple iPhone 8 will probably have a bigger screen that the normal iPhone 7, but you could always get an iPhone 7 Plus if screen size is a factor for you. It doesn't look like Apple will be abandoning those users any time soon either, as reports this week claim that an upgraded iPhone SE 2 is on the way. Most have moved on to these larger phones at this point but some still prefer the old 4-inch form factor, which is why Apple released the iPhone SE past year.
This release window makes sense, as the iPhone SE first launched in March 2016.
The latest info comes from firmware-digging dev Steve Troughton-Smith, who has managed to uncover sizing details for the notch - the small bit of bezel that will stick out from the top of the screen, housing sensors and a front-facing camera.
The iPhone 8 will feature a hands-free way to silence notifications, according to a new leak. Interestingly, though, most rumours and mock-ups point to a vertically mounted array, with one lens above the other. Also expected with a new iPhone 8 launch this year would be newer iterations of the iPhone 7 with a iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus.
Tipster Benjamin Geskin has shared photos of the dummy units of the iPhone 8 dipped in Copper Gold. The inclusion of a glass back should lend a more premium feel to the new handset, and you just can't beat an edge-to-edge screen.
Not much else is known about this feature for the upcoming iPhone other than the fact that is made possible by the rumored facial recognition technology, which was also discovered by Rambo.
Sources told DigiTimes that "all of the three new iPhone models, including two TFT LCD and one OLED model, have entered volume production", adding that supply may fall short of the high demand expected for the product.
