Are there already too many of these devices on the market? It also has a built-in hub that lets users more easily connect and control other accessories including lights, thermostats, and locks.

If that sounds like something you'd find useful, then the Amazon Echo Look might be the smart device for you, otherwise you'd nearly certainly be much better served by one of the other models on this list.

The Spot is available for $150 in both black and white and will be available in December this year. A big reason why the Google Assistant is better at this than Alexa, is the fact that it has the entire Google search engine behind it.

Echo Spot features second generation far-field technology with four microphones, acoustic beam-forming technology, and enhanced noise cancellation so it can hear you from across the room-even while music is playing.

TechCrunch's sources claim that Google was previously working on new devices with larger screens that could compete with televisions. The Manhattan smart screen could also be a way for Google to push its Duo and Hangouts video calling services to more users.

The company also announced a new Fire TV that will make the most of the latest video standards.

The all-new Amazon Fire TV is available for pre-order starting today from www.amazon.com/firetv and will begin shipping to US customers on October 25. Google is reportedly talking to Best Buy's Geek Squad and Enjoy for home installation, suggesting the product will not be as portable as the Echo Show.

Echo Buttons will be available as a pair for $19.99 in the US.

The Amazon Echo Look is one of the weirder entries in Amazon's Echo lineup.

As well as displaying visual information, the Show is also capable of playing video content from a variety of sources including, of course, Amazon Prime Video.

While there are no words on the design and specs of the Google smart tabletop speaker, the report suggests that it would run an Android version that would make it easier to connect with other devices. One important difference, however, is that Google's "Manhattan" would be able to play YouTube videos, a feature that Google just pulled access to from the Amazon's Echo Show. Alexa will tell you whose calling, and you can decide whether to pick up calls or not through simple voice commands.
