Leeds hold nerve from the spot to defeat Burnley

Leeds United manager Thomas Christiansen has praised his team and admitted that he now faces a selection dilemma after they recorded a dramatic victory over Burnley on Tuesday in the League Cup.

This was punished by Leeds Uniteds' Hadi Sakho which brought the game into life.

Ladbrokes have been forced to apologise to Burnley for a message on social media which contained a rude gesture towards players Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor.

Wood's 86th minute penalty, fired into the bottom left hand corner of the net, tied things up at 1-1, after Leeds Gaetano Berardi had taken down Burnley's Chris Long in the box.

Leeds then went back in front four minutes into stoppage time courtesy of Pablo Hernandez, but Robbie Brady hit back moments later. 20-odd million they've made for a club (in transfer fees) and they get slaughtered.

"I don't know any more how fans react to players, ex-players, all that stuff, but that's football now".

"There's never a lack of will and demand from the group, my only gripe is the amount of opportunities we created", said Dyche.

"Unbelievable", he said on BBC Radio Leeds, when asked how the first two months of the campaign have been for Leeds.

The match finished 2-2 after extra time, with Leeds going on to win 5-3 on penalties to underline what a good start toit eh season it has been for the Yorkshire outfit who are now top of the Championship.

Leicester, who were crowned Premier League Champions during the 2015/16 campaign, beat Liverpool on Tuesday night, with Craig Shakespeare's side putting in an impressive display against one of the favourites to win the competition.

"The game should have been done in 90 minutes".
