Wednesday, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) told TMZ that Eminem's rap video "The Storm", which is critical of President Donald Trump, was an "important cultural contribution".

The rap includes a number of scathing criticisms, including the line; "Racism is the only thing he's fantastic for".

The rapper also reference Trump's latest battle, which has been with the NFL - or more specifically players who have protested during the playing of the national anthem.

The representative from Minnesota started off by commenting on the importance of voting, and of citizens using the vote to express their opinions.

As with any criticism of Trump, Eminem's diss was not short of high-profile supporters, with a number of musicians and athletes backing him up on social media.

"F- you" the rapper added to those who can't decide. "You can't boycott the vote".

During the explicit four and a half minute rap, the Stan singer described the president as a "kamikaze that will probably cause a nuclear holocaust". He then likened Eminem to 60's R&B singer Marvin Gaye and gospel singers during the 1950's Civil Rights movement. "I love this trend. You know Eminem could be the Colin Kaepernick of the rap world if he just keeps it up".
