Coming back from defeats in the first game against US and Ghana respectively, India and Colombia will be looking to bounce back in Group A.

The telling moment of the half was, however, reserved for last when India were stopped by the post, Rahul Kannoly's rasping left footed volley brushing the outside of the post in the closing seconds of the first half. India lost the match 2-1 but Jeakson Singh Thaunaojam ensured that he gave the Indian fans something to cheer about and true to its form Twitterati could not help but hail the youngster's heroic attempt at giving India a win in the Under-17 World Cup.

India put up a valiant fight and also scored their first-ever goal in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in their 1-2 defeat against Colombia but coach Luis Norton de Matos on Monday said that his side could have won the match had the goalpost not denied them in the first session. The South American's win came despite Jeakson Thounaojam scoring India's first-ever goal in a Federation Internationale de Football Association competition.

India responded by scoring the equaliser from a corner delivered by Sanjeev Stalin which was headed in by Jeakson, who was left unmarked at the near post. Sunil Chhetri, Praful Patel and many others congratulated the football player.

They should come up with an improved performance against a stronger Colombian unit.

With both teams failing to break the deadlock, India went into the breather with their heads held high, but cursing their fate. "It was due to the inexperience of the players", the coach said.

The assist was made by captain Thomas Gutierrez, and as the ball found the back of the net, the Colombian team ran towards their dugout and celebrated.

India's number one goalkeeper, on this occasion, had no chance even though he had another brilliant night under the bar pulling off a couple incredible saves, showing nice anticipation.

In the 15th minute, forward Abhijit Sarkar got the first chance for India from the box, but the close-range shot was prevented by Colombian goalkeeper Kevin Mier.
