The spokesperson confirmed earlier that a reservation was made under the name Stephen Paddock.

- Disturbed and unsafe - that's how investigators profile Stephen Paddock - the man who, they say lived a secret life and acquired an arsenal over decades before opening fire perched in a Las Vegas casino hotel room raining deadly fire.

McMahill said Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, "continues to cooperate with the FBI" but he wouldn't say if the information she has been providing has been helpful.

She was in the Philippines on Sunday when Paddock opened fire.

He said investigators were continuing to search for answers with "great tenacity". As law enforcement works to uncover any sort of motivation as to why the shooter committed such a mass and senseless violence crime, officials say Paddock's girlfriend could be key in uncovering a motive.

Ms Danley, an Australian citizen, was interviewed by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in Los Angeles on Wednesday about Stephen Paddock, who killed 58 people and injured nearly 500 others on the weekend.

New reports say the Las Vegas shooter likely had some help, a plan to escape, and possibly another target at a larger music festival.

More serious discussion in Washington is certainly on the horizon with many Democrats already calling for action to be taken.

Police are now imploring the public to share any knowledge they may have on Paddock. Investigators say he brought close 23 guns - a dozen equipped with bump stocks to allow for the release of multiple rounds per trigger squeeze- with him when he checked into a suite at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

He also suggested that Paddock could have had "some help at some point" in the planning stage.

"I loved him and hoped for a quiet future together with him", she said.

"What I can confirm to you today is we have found no evidence of any of that as I'm standing before you today", the undersheriff added. Nothing again stood out.

"He never said anything to me or took any action that I was aware of that I understood in any way to be a warning that something awful like this was going to happen", she said.
