Rep. Jenniffer Gonzalez, who represents Puerto Rico in Congress, thanked him on Twitter.

"It's really bad down there so we need all the help", he added. "Just doing my part", he said in a statement to the Daily News.

On Monday, with the help of the National Basketball Association team's owner Mark Cuban and the team plane, the 33-year-old was able to fly to the USA territory with food, water and other supplies.

Following her comments, baseball player Alex thanked everyone who has helped out with the relief effort in a post on his Instagram account, including the "On The Floor" hitmaker's ex-husband Marc Anthony.

More than a week after the category 4 hurricane struck on 20 September, "in many places there's no water to drink or bathe in or to flush toilets", Vox reports.

President Trump has said he will visit Puerto Rico, home to three million United States citizens, after Hurricane Maria caused food, water and electricity shortages last week.

Mavericks guard J.J. Barea spent Monday night and much of Tuesday in Puerto Rico helping hurricane relief efforts there. "For me to have the contacts and good friends in Dallas and Mark Cuban gave the team plane and we're trying to bring another one if it all goes good".

Hurricane Maria left Puerto Rico in ruins, with mass power outages and nearly half the residents without drinking water.

Barea said Tuesday that Puerto Rico is his home and he had come to help.

Pitbull is not just standing by rapping as the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico intensifies. "We wish we could take everybody that wants to get out but we can't, so we'll do our best".
