President Trump Blasts Tom Steyer After Impeachment Ad Campaign

President Trump on Friday seemingly gave San Francisco billionaire Tom Steyer the ultimate gift: a nasty insult on Twitter.

It's unclear why Trump is calling Steyer "Wacky & totally unhinged", unless he thinks spending $10 million on 60-second TV spots making excellent arguments why the president should be impeached is "wacky". Trump tweeted early Friday.

Mr. Steyer recently launched an advertising campaign, which has been broadcast on Fox News and other national media, stating that "President Trump should be removed from office".

"Yet today people in Congress and his own administration know that this President is a clear and present danger who's mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons, and they do nothing", he said. It accuses the president of obstructing justice in his firing of former FBI Director James Comey, violating the Constitution, taking money from foreign governments and threatening to shut down press organizations.

On the site, Steyer writes, "He has threatened to reduce aid for millions of American citizens in Puerto Rico who are struggling to survive without drinkable water or electricity, a move that would be a total dereliction of his duty".

According to, Steyer donated to Hillary Clinton; Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., who has repeatedly called for Trump's impeachment; and Democratic candidates for Senate.

"A Republican Congress once impeached a president for far less". He is also a staunch supporter of many liberal causes, such as the fight against climate change.
