Delhi Police is probing how self-styled godwoman Radhe Maa managed to sit on the chair of the SHO of a police station here.
Earlier in the day, Radhe Maa was in the news after she got a floral welcome from Vivek Vihar Police Station SHO Sanjay Sharma. The video shows the godwoman attending a Ram Lila function at GTB Enclave where five local police personnel are seen singing patriotic songs as she sways to their tune.
Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), an umbrella organisation of 13 akharas, has recently released a list of 14 blacklisted spiritual leaders including Radhe Maa. The action against him was taken following uproar over a photograph in which Radhe Maa is seen sitting on the senior cop's chair, while he is standing beside with "chunri" around his neck. The house is called Radhe Maa Bhavan by her devotees and Gupta is a managing trustee of Shri Radhe Guru Maa Charitable Trust. There were 15-20 of her disciples along with her. All the police officers were sent to district lines which infers that they will not be given any position or responsibility till the inquiry is on. After sitting at the seat of the SHO Sanjay for a few minutes, she left the police station. Das gave her the title of Radhe Maa, meaning "Mother Radha". Meanwhile, Shahdara Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police has asked for a detailed report of the incident. In 2015, a woman alleged that her husband and his family harassed her for dowry at the order of Radhe Maa.
Radhe Maa has also been accused of other offences.
