After being tested in Portugal last month, the feature appeared for US users soon after and Facebook has this week confirmed it will be rolled out globally.
However, it slightly backfired when everyone flocked to using Instagram stories but Facebook stories did not take off in the same way and ever since Facebook has been trying to direct you to Facebook stories.
After testing in Portugal last month, the option to syndicate Instagram Stories to Facebook Stories has now also appeared for US users.
The move appears to be part of Facebook's larger attempt to bring the success its had with Stories features on other platforms to company's flagship social network.
Instagram added a new polling feature to the popular Stories format, the photo-sharing platform said in a blog post.
"You now have the option to share your Instagram Stories to your Facebook Stories", a Facebook spokesperson confirmed to PCMag. We're always working to make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you.
However, the tie-in could help Facebook enormously. The company is now officially enabling cross-posting of Stories from Instagram to Facebook.
"You now have the option to share your Instagram Stories to your Facebook Stories".
Instagram's aim is to offer a fun, interactive tool that lets users ask friends and followers simple questions-about what they should wear, for example ("Should I wear this dress or these jeans?") or what to eat ("Should I finish this leftover pizza or cook some pasta?"). To rope in more numbers for their Stories, Instagram will now offer its members to post Stories directly to Facebook.
Having said that, one advantage of being able to share Instagram Stories directly on Facebook is that it would save time as users won't have to manually keep uploading it on Facebook.
