Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Launched in India at Rs 35999

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 to launch in India today; live stream the event here

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 launched, becomes the year's flagship killer

The smartphone is powered by the top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core SoC, paired with 6 GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB onboard flash storage without any dedicated micro SD card slot. It is powered by a 3400 mAH battery. The rear camera comes with 4-axis optical image stabilization, 5P lens, f/2.0 aperture, and 1.25µm large pixels.

There's no 3.5mm auxiliary headphone port on the Mi Mix 2, so you'll have to resort on using either Bluetooth earphones or the USB Type-C to 3.5mm dongle that comes inside the box.

Even though packing a 5.99-inch massive display, the Mix 2 has a footprint of a 5.5-inch smartphone because it has the Full-Screen display up front with thin bezels on the top and either side. However, that is not to say the phone does not have its fair share of issues.

Back in March 2016, Xiaomi launched Mi 5 flagship smartphone in India. The company claims that this earpiece delivers high quality sound. We'll have to wait and see if Xiaomi launches multiple variants of the Mi Mix 2 in India.

The device with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection has 43 connectivity band support that can work in 226 regions globally, the company said. With specifications that make it a solid top-of-the-line phone within the mid-range price bracket, the Mi A1 appeals to those of us who like Xiaomi's minimalist designs, but prefer the stock-Android experience versus the Chinese company's highly-tweaked MIUI. The front camera is placed at the bottom compared to the top on other Flagships which sounds odd.

First, the camera, and the OnePlus 5 is a clear victor here. While taking a selfie, the user has to look down at the camera or simply flip the phone around. The front camera is also squeezed at the bottom right of the front panel.

The "Mi MIX 2", an upgrade from last year's Mi MIX, comes with 6GB RAM in three versions - 64GB, 128GB and 256GB - with full-screen display.

The body of the phone is made with four sided ceramic back and has a frame build with 7 series aluminum with round display corner for comfortable holding in hand. The phone gets its juice from a 3500mAh battery. With Mi Mix 2, there are some changes, though overall this is a continuation of that bezel-less display design.

Though many fans swear by Xiaomi's heavily bloated user interface, it can not be denied that it womes with its own set of problems.

Xiaomi is growing 58.9 per cent month over month with selling 10 million phones in September alone.
