"I have a regret that I am not president", the former vice-president and and 36-year senator from DE tells Oprah Winfrey in an interview airing on OWN's Super Soul Sunday this week. Biden discussed why he regrets not being president and also why he didn't run in 2016. Biden appeared to refer to Trump's response over the summer to white supremacist protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, in which the President blamed "many sides" for the violence that left one person dead. Biden's has become increasingly outspoken with his criticism of the President over the last month.
The former vice president explained that in order for one to decide to announce whether he or she is running for president, they need to be able to answer two questions.
"Joe Biden thinks it's critical that Donald Trump not get a second term - and though it's early, he doesn't yet see anyone else who could stop that from happening", Politico's Edward-Isaac Dovere writes.
"It's undermining the social fabric of the nation, this phony nationalism", Biden said.
And although most of us would think she has the best job in the world right now, she clearly has hopes for something bigger. "That's the Hillary I've come to admire", Obama gushed.
"I want to think of him as this handsome kid in the back of the book or this strong major in the United States Army or the guy introducing me at the National Convention. Promise me, Dad, '" Biden reveals of the book's title.
"She said, 'Joey grab my hand".
"They understand their strengths and they understand their weaknesses".
Winfrey's full interview with Biden airs Sunday on OWN. "And the people who don't do that are the people who aren't self aware enough to know. because most of the time that abuse ends up in their downfall as well".
In the clips shown on "GMA", Biden didn't name Trump, although he described to Winfrey the characteristics he believes make for a successful leader.
