The charges of sex trafficking have been filed by the legal council for actress Kadian Noble alleging that, "Harvey Weinstein was able to force or coerce Kadian into sexual activity in his hotel room because of his promise to her of a film role and use of his influence on her behalf, despite having no intention of following through on those promises".
But later, "in or about February, 2014", Weinstein allegedly approached Noble at Le Majestic Hotel in Cannes, France, and asked her "to come to his hotel room to review her reel with her and discuss further steps in securing the role he had previously targeted for her". According to the complaint, Weinstein called an unnamed Weinstein Company producer, who told the actress that she needed to be "a good girl and do whatever (Weinstein) wished", and if she did, "they would work" with her further. According to the suit, Weinstein then trapped her in the bathroom and forced her to masturbate him until he ejaculated on the floor.
"TWC knowingly participated in Harvey Weinstein's venture in violation of 18 U.S.C. §1591 (the sex trafficking statute) by benefiting from, and knowingly facilitating, the venture in which Harvey Weinstein traveled in foreign commerce to recruit or entice female actors into forced or coerced sexual encounters on the promise of roles in films or entertainment projects", says Noble's lawyer Jeff Herman in the complaint.
Weinstein spokesperson is still keen on claiming that "any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein".
As per Friedman's opinion, he told People that Noble's lawyers will "be very aggressive and take discoveries as soon as possible, which would mean taking depositions of the Weinstein brothers and their company".
Now, Weinstein has been slapped damages claim in a London court by a woman who has accused the Hollywood producer of sexual assault.
Harvey Weinstein Latest Accuser Describes Alleged Sexual Attack
Weinstein confirmed his resignation on Monday and said he has "nothing but the utmost respect for the organization" in a statement sent to USA TODAY by his publicist Holly Baird. We must recognize sexual harassment is endemic in our society, and painfully, in our industry.
A civil claim has been lodged in the United Kingdom.
There is a statute of limitations of five years when it comes to civil sexual assault claims.
In the claim issued November 23 and obtained by USA TODAY, Weinstein is named as a defendant, along with The Weinstein Company (UK) Limited and The Weinstein Company LLC. The companies are also listed as the accuser sees they are "vicariously liable".
She is now demanding a jury trial and unspecified damages in the suit, which also names Harvey's brother Bob and The Weinstein Company as co-defendants.
Earlier UK media reports have said London's Metropolitan Police is investigating allegations against Weinstein by seven women over incidents that reportedly took place from the 1980s to 2015.
