An op-ed in Politico Friday by former White House ethics attorneys Richard Painter, Norman Eisen, and Virginia Canter warns that Trump's contacts with Bannon, if they touched on Robert Mueller's special counsel investigation, could violate the law.

According to reports, Mr. Muller's investigators have begun interviewing witnesses about Mr. Kushner's role in last May's firing of FBI Director James Comey, which rocked Washington.

The group concludes by calling for greater scrutiny of Bannon and his contacts with Trump since leaving the White House.

Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 U.S. election - and whether Trump's campaign colluded with Moscow to influence the outcome - led to the indictments on Monday of Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, and Manafort's past business associate Rick Gates.

Sam Nunberg, who works under Stone and briefly worked for Trump's campaign, then criticized Kushner on the record.

According to several news outlets, Trump spent Monday morning watching Manafort turn himself in on a television in the residence.

The news comes after a dramatic week in which Trump's former campaign chair Paul Manafort, and Manfort's business partner Rick Gates, were indicted on 12 counts including money laundering.

With Manafort under house arrest, Trump is said to be angry with Kushner for making certain decisions which led to Robert Mueller becoming the head of the Russian Federation probe.

"Jared is the worst political adviser in the White House in modern history", Nunberg said. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released on Sunday put Mr. Trump's approval rating at 38 percent - the lowest for the survey since February, when he was a month into his presidency.

The FBI is looking into possible obstruction of justice in the termination of Comey, who led the Russian Federation probe before Mueller took over. "I'm only saying publicly what everyone says behind the scenes at Fox News, in conservative media, and the Senate and Congress".

Lawyers for Mr. Kushner, White House officials and a special counsel spokesman, all declined to comment on CNN's report. They believe that Mueller's history with the federal investigation body will make it very hard for him to undertake a fair investigation of its involvement in this political drama with Russian Federation.
