The opposition parties, including the Congress, have said they would observe November 8 as "black day" across the country by organising protests and effigy burning, besides candlelight marches.
There has never been such one-sided election in Himachal Pradesh, and the reason for it is that the country now knows the real traits of Congress party, says PM Modi.
The Congress' mindset was as harmful to Indian democracy as a termite was "to the wood it comes in contact with", the Prime Minister charged. "No senior Congress leader came here to campaign".
Modi said that over 3 lakh companies have shut down after demonetisation and a probe into 5,000 such firms has found a fraud of Rs 4,000 crore while investigation against others was on.
"Senior Congress leaders are not campaigning in Himachal, they have conceded defeat and left CM Virbhadra Singh to his fate", Modi said. Congress is getting the fruits of its sins.
While addressing the rally, he also expressed confidence that his party will sweep the upcoming polls in the state. Donning a Himachali cap, Modi, on his third and last round of election tour of the state, said: "In the last 20 years, there has not been a single election where I have not been involved".
"Their rotten mindset and rotten work culture will set rot in India's democracy", he said, asking the people to punish the party in the polls.
He said the state had progressed most when Prem Kumar Dhumal was its chief minister and Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister as the central government pumped in money which Dhumal used effectively for development of the hill state.
Seeking votes for a "commoner" like Dhumal, he asked the people to vote out "royals", a reference to Singh. "A mere change of government will not solve the problem".
Modi, who has already addressed two election meetings on November 2, would be there for two rallies at Rait (Kangra) and Sundernagar (Mandi) on Saturday, the BJP said. The results of Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections 2017 will be declared on December 18.
