'Shameless' star Ethan Cutkosky reportedly arrested on suspicion of DUI

Episode 609

Ethan Cutkosky as Carl Gallagher in Shameless

Actor Ethan Cutkosky may play a troubled teen on the Showtime television show "Shameless", but he's gotten himself into some real trouble off camera. The actor, who is only 18-years-old, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Thursday night in the L.A. area.

Cutkosky plays the second youngest child of William H. Macy's brood of children on the Showtime series.

Cutkosky's character enrolled in a military academy last season after leaving behind a life of crime.

Ethan Cutkosky, 18, was pulled over by Burbank police at around 10:30 p.m. on November 2 after he was spotted driving erratically. After pulling him over, cops reportedly smelled "the distinct odor of burnt marijuana", and Cutkosky later admitted to having smoked weed that evening.

A DUI test was subsequently conducted, including a blood draw, and Cutkosky was booked into Burbank City Jail. Police say he was speeding, making unsafe turning movements and lane straddling. Police pulled him over, and he reportedly failed a field sobriety test, which led to the arrest. As for Carl, he used his meth money to buy a huge hot tub, which he put in the Gallagher family back yard.

Cutksoky has starred on "Shameless" for all eight of its seasons. The actor has yet to comment on the situation publicly.
