Target stores won't be open all night on Thanksgiving

The world's biggest retailer rolled out free two-day shipping on more than 2 million items in January, and US online chief Marc Lore has credited the offer with helping the company post web sales growth of at least 60 percent in recent quarters - about double the pace of Target and Best Buy.

Target Corp. said it will be open on Thanksgiving Day, from 6 midnight, then will reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. That's 30 straight hours of in-store shopping.

One top deal for the Minneapolis-based retailer this year is buy one item, get one at 50 percent off on hundreds of beauty sets.

The company will offer a number of Black Friday deals and promotions, including $10 off your first purchase of $50 or more and three-for-one deals on some clothing items and brands, including all Kim Rogers items and men's casual and dress trousers.

Hours: JC Penny has not yet announced its store hours, but deals will last November 23-Dec. 24. However, new to this year, Target will close its stores at midnight and reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. Black Friday hours will vary by location.

The shift in store hours will give employees and chance to "recharge" and prepare stores for Black Friday shoppers, said Janna Potts, Target's chief stores officer, according to Fortune.

Walmart: The annual toy book is online now, but the company has not yet announced its hours or released its Black Friday ad.
