XPPolice did not release information about any victims

Colorado police are searching for an armed and risky man who is a suspect in the shooting of three at a Walmart store in a Denver suburb Wednesday night.

A woman was also injured, but died later in hospital, according to Thornton Police Department.

The shooting appears random and there are no indications that it was an act of terror, said Thornton police spokesman Victor Avila.

Police want people to stay away from the area.

Police spotted the vehicle and followed it, eventually stopping Ostrem in his Mitsubishi Mirage and taking him into custody.

A police spokesman said: "This is a very heinous act", a police spokesman said.

The Walmart is located in Thornton, about 11 miles north of Denver.

It happened at 9900 Grant Street in Thornton in the early evening.

They say there has been a shooting with multiple injuries.

Thornton police say 47-year-old Scott Ostrem was arrested Thursday morning, about 14 hours after he fled the store in a auto.

Customers and employees hid or fled toward the exits after gunshots rang out in Thornton, a suburb of Denver. Police immediately evacuated the mall when they arrived.
