Timothy Jabbar Wyatt, 36, entered the victim's motel room in Autauga County at 2:30 a.m. while she was sleeping.
While stopping at a gas station, the victim managed to escape the trunk, authorities said.
Soon after he pulled into the Clanton petrol station, where the woman made her escape. Moments later, the trunk pops open and a woman gets out. The suspect started to choke the victim before tying her up and forcing her into a vehicle, police told the news site. The suspect then ran back to his auto and drove away. The suspect then allegedly tied the victim's hands and put her in the trunk of a vehicle. At some point, he allegedly forced her into the trunk.
He clearly sees her escaping, and appearing to realise he may be in trouble, starts to run too - but heads instead for the direction of the vehicle.
The Chilton County Sheriff's Office says they captured the suspect sleeping inside the Old Trade School building Halloween night when deputies were performing an extra patrol in the area of County Road 435.
The Autauga County Sheriff's Office began searching for Wyatt after an incident early Monday morning.
According to WSFA, Wyatt was taken into custody Tuesday without incident.
Wyatt remains behind bars in Chilton County without bond.
The Autauga County Sheriff's Office has warrants out for Robbery 1st Degree, Kidnapping 1st Degree, and Domestic Violence 2nd Degree in Wyatt's name and are actively searching for the man they have deemed to be armed and risky. He was also arrested in April on charges of attempted murder, sodomy and robbery.
