In a shocking incident, a stalker set a girl and her family on fire in Chennai's Adambakkam area. The victim's mother Renuka (44) and sister Nivedha (20) also sustained severe burn injuries while trying to rescue her.

On learning that her family was looking for a groom for her, Aakash went to Indujas residence last night and once again proposed to her.

The mother has suffered 49% burns, while the sister is in ICU at the Kilpauk Medical Hospital, according to News18.

A stalker on Monday night killed a girl, whom he obsessed, by setting her on fire and severely injured her mother and sister. Akash picked up an argument with Induja and in a fit of rage, poured the turpentine oil he was carrying in a container on Induja and set her ablaze with a lighter. As per recent reports, Akash, who is a science graduate, has been arrested.

NDTV quoted the police as saying that even though Induja's family had rebuffed him, he said they were in a relationship and had plans of getting married.

Upon hearing cries, neighbours rushed to call an ambulance, which they claim arrived after 40 minutes.

Sindhuja's father Shanmugam, 48, is working in Dubai. Initially, they didn't open the door, but Akash insisted that he would only to talk to Induja.
