They inevitably started shooting at the lady, who was struck a few times and killed while she remained on the patio of a trailer, experts said.

The newspaper reports Jones had a long criminal history that included arrests on drug, domestic violence and resisting arrest charges.

The Bexar (bayr) County medical examiner's office identified the child Friday as Kameron Prescott.

The woman was attempting to break in to the trailer Thursday afternoon in Schertz when the shooting took place.

The boy was sitting inside the trailer when he was struck in the mid-region by a stray bullet that penetrated the divider. He died at a hospital. While the sheriff originally said there was an exchange of gunfire, in his second news conference of the day he said it appears the suspect did not have a weapon on her when she was shot and killed.

The female suspect was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

Authorities say the boy was inside a mobile home when the suspect being chased by deputies attempted to break in.

"The suspect indicated to the deputies, 'I have a weapon, I'm going to shoot you, '" Salazar said, according to KHOU.

Salazar said late Thursday that specialists still couldn't seem to discover the firearm the lady supposedly pointed at agents.

A 7-year-old boy was killed when Texas sheriff's deputies opened fire on a woman at a San Antonio-area mobile home park following a almost two-hour manhunt.

Salazar says the suspect, a woman, had no apparent connection to the child or his family.

"Something in the way that suspect presented to the deputies, placed these deputies in direct fear for their lives, they fired several shots each at the suspect", Salazar said.

The Bexar County Sheriff has not released Jones' name, but her family was able to confirm her death.

Deputies claim that the woman had earlier pointed a gun at them at least twice-nogun was found on the scene or in a subsequent search.

When deputies found her on Nu Pecan Grove, authorities said it appeared she was trying to break into a mobile home and that's when four deputies fired shots.
