Hip hop legend dies aged 48 after short cancer battle

Famed DJ and label exec Combat Jack passed away at the age of 48 after announcing he was battling colon cancer in October.

The Brooklyn native, who hosted "The Combat Jack Show" podcast, was a former editor at The Source magazine and an attorney who represented Jay-Z, Damon Dash, Capone-n-Noreaga and Roc-A-Fella records, according to reports.

New York-based radio host Peter Rosenberg, of Hot 97's Ebro In The Morning, took to Twitter to confirm Reggie's passing. "Rest In Peace to the Legendary Combat Jack", wrote Joey.

In October, Osse revealed that he was diagnosed with colon cancer on Twitter, saying that he had to be rushed to the hospital for surgery. In 2009, Ossé began writing under the Combat Jack moniker for his Daily Mathematics blog.
