John Mayer Hospitalized for Emergency Appendectomy

BREAKING: John Mayer Rushed To The Hospital For Emergency Surgery

According to a rep, 40-year-old John Mayer needed surgery in order to remove his appendix.

John Mayer had to undergo an emergency appendectomy in New Orleans on Tuesday (December 5), representatives said. The 40-year-old is now touring with Dead & Company, who released a statement on his condition.

The band didn't provide any further details on Mayer's condition or how the procedure went. Tickets to the December 7th show in Orlando are still on sale at this time. Should ticketholders choose to seek a refund, they will be available at the point of purchase.

The band announced the news on Twitter, and added that all tickets for the Tuesday night show at Smoothie King Center would be honored for a to-be-announced rescheduled date.

Grateful Dead singer and Mayer's bandmate, Bob Weir, wished the guitarist a speedy recovery.

Dead & Company is now next scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL. Hopefully the Dead & Co. frontman can get back to performing soon.
