State police say three people and a dog died in a small plane crash in southeastern in, but another dog aboard the aircraft survived.
As a result of the crash, three people were found deceased at the scene along with one deceased dog.
A second dog survived the crash and showed up at a nearby home, according to Indiana State Police.
The Franklin County coroner says the bodies were recovered Saturday night after the single-engine aircraft went down in a wooded area off North Hamburg Road in Batesville.

Indiana State Police and the Federal Aviation Association are investigating this incident. Wheeles said the investigation may take weeks to complete. Wheeles said the names of those on board the plane won't be released until the coroner contacts next of kin and confirms the identities.
