Boston's First Baby Of 2018 Born At Brigham and Women's Hospital

The pediatrician on call at St. Michael's said everyone in her unit was thrilled to be a part of the first New Year's baby.

- Hospitals around the country claim to have given birth to the first baby of the year but this one is definitely a contender.

The infant weighed in at 4 pounds, 11.5 ounces and is 18 inches long, officials said.

"They're probably just trying to get over the shock of having a baby on the first day of the year", Rubin explained.
