Antonio Conte has continued his war of words with Jose Mourinho, brandishing the Manchester United manager a "little man" and a "fake". Everybody knows, I don't need the Chelsea manager to say I made mistakes in the past.
Conte was suspended for four months while at Juventus for failing to report match-fixing at Siena, but was subsequently cleared of any wrongdoing in 2016.
"Because I don't behave as a clown on the touchline, it means that I lost my passion", said Mourinho.
"I consider him a little man, I consider him a man with a very low profile", Conte said of Mourinho after his side's goalless FA Cup draw with Norwich City. The question iscompletely wrong and because of that it is an out of control reaction. I think you are a little man - a little man.
"I prefer to behave the way I am doing it, much more mature, better for my team and myself, I don't think you have to behave like a insane guy on the touchline to have that passion".
Conte, though, was in no mood to let the feud simmer as he told BT Sport: "When a person (does this), their target is to offend, to insult another person". The Premier League-winning manager was later acquitted of the charges. Yes, I make less but I will (still) make a few. "That never happened to me, and it will never happen".
Conte tapped his temple as he spoke, and was asked to clarify his comment.
Chelsea will take on La Liga leaders Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 next month.
Antonio Conte's Chelsea are now third in the EPL standings as they are one point behind José Mourinho's Manchester United.
"But I don't blame him at all, I was asked about my passion and you know because most of you were in my press conference and I was speaking about myself and then the question to the Chelsea manager was like I told that he behaves like a clown, probably the journalist wants to say that but didn't have the courage to say that".
Conte enraged Mourinho on Friday by suggesting he was suffering from senile dementia in response to comments interpreted as a dig against his touchline behaviour.
Conte is in his second season as Chelsea head coach, like Mourinho is at United.
It's prompted Conte to call on Mourinho to remember his own history: "I think that he has to see himself in the past, maybe he was speaking about himself in the past, yeah?"
