Xiaomi is now rolling out the much-awaited Android 8.0 Oreo for the Xiaomi Mi A1. The download is 1107.4MB in size and will include the December Android security patch as well. It packs with the Latest Android 8.0 Oreo with all its goodies like Picture in Picture mode, auto fill, notification channels, new revamped settings app, new notification center and several others.
Xiaomi only recently launched the Mi A1 in partnership with Google. To recall, Xiaomi earlier this month started testing the Oreo update with a few beta testers, but starting today, all the Mi A1 will receive the update.
So, if you still haven't updated your OS on the Nexus 6P, it's time to get it from settings and enjoy the latest features.
Having said that, the update is rolled out over the air in batches, hence, not all Mi A1 users will get the update right away on their smartphones. The device marks 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1080×1920 resolution. It is powered by the Snapdragon 625 mobile platform. It has rear dual-lens camera setup with the combination of 12MP +12MP sensors and 5MP snapper. This dual camera system offers 2X optical zoom and 10X digital zoom (just like the iPhone 7 Plus) and therefore should technically result in clearer distant shots and professional bokeh effects in portraits.
E-commerce portal Flipkart is also offering a discount on the Xiaomi Mi A1. Besides the rear cameras, it also has a 5 MP camera in the front for taking selfies. By miles. The Mi A1 does not ship with Xiaomi's custom ROM MIUI. Notably, it becomes the first smartphone in India to have Oreo with the price tag of under Rs. 15,000. It comes in four colour options, including Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and the Special Edition Red.
