The Ox says this: Coutinho going doesn't affect us at all

He has recently spoken about the effect that Philippe Coutinho leaving will have on Jurgen Klopp's side and has rubbished talk that the Brazilian is irreplaceable and has backed his teammates to succeed without him.

"I have nothing to say about that".

"I don't know if you can compare - we lost plenty at Dortmund!"

Hazard however, in a recent interview with DAZN (via the Mirror), insisted that he appreciates the talent of Coutinho and thinks he will go on to achieve great things in Spain, at the expense of the Premier League. He would only leave Liverpool for one club. "That was the moment when we really had to accept that". "If we do it in this window, I don't know".

"To use him as a player in the second part of the season, did it make sense?"

"He wasn't ready to do it anymore. It's Anfield, I'm really looking forward to it". But it was clear that's over now and we can not do anymore. "I don't think it should affect us at all".

Klopp stressed that he has lost big-game players previously as a manager and called on everyone to move on from Coutinho's departure. It's all about the atmosphere in the club. That would be not too cool. You use the past but you don't suffer because of it.

The Brazilian was still desperate to join Barcelona, but Liverpool had several factors in their favour if they tried to retain him.

"But it was clear that's over now - he can not do that anymore so we made that decision".

"We don't have to replace him as such, we will still have 11 players".

"When Phil didn't play in some games we still played great football and we still have fantastic players who can score goals - the likes of Mo [Salah], Sadio [Mané], Roberto [Firmino] and everyone else".

'I came here for a reason, ' Oxlade-Chamberlain explains. We have everything we need to go and get the right result. "We will see. Until 31 January a lot of things can happen in the transfer window", the Liverpool said boss when asked about Sturridge. That's how it is. I knew the manager would want me to learn the way he wants me to play and how to play best with the team. I knew that was what I was going to face. "All the rest, nothing to say about it". If nothing happens in this moment Mo is back. Providing the Reds can remain secure in defence there will be space for the forwards to run into and plenty of opportunities to counterattack, and they are fully capable of exploiting that even without Coutinho, particularly with Adam Lallana now fully fit again after a four-month layoff. He has not been able to sign anything - he has been totally cut off from the world of football. He needs time for proper training of course. Carragher claims they, therefore, don't need to "panic buy" and can wait before making a big signing.
