Asus likely to launch ZenFone 5 series at MWC 2018; press invites out

Asus will be hosting a launch event that will take place during the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. Earlier it was reported that the fifth generation Sefanov will include a budget smartphone ZenFone 5 Lite with screen 6 inches and an aspect ratio of 18:9, and the company he should be a giant phablet ZenFone 5 Max - nearly a competitor to the Xiaomi Mi 2 Max the screen size. The Taiwanese company has released an invitation for its MWC conference that is scheduled for February 27.

The company hasn't revealed the names of the handsets to be announced at the mega event, but reports have claimed it could be none other than the ZenFone 5 Lite and the ZenFone 5 Max.

Asus has confirmed on Twitter that it is unveiling its ZenFone 5 series at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC 2018) to be held in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1. It will be streamed live at 7:30PM, which is 2.30AM on 28 February, Malaysian time.

Last week, a suspicious Asus smartphone with model number ASUS_X00QD a certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance. However, if rumors are to be believed, the mentioned smartphones are expected to run on Android 8.0 out of the box. The ZenFone 5 Max will have a bigger battery while the Lite version is an affordable alternative for the entry-level segment. As usual, Asus will launch a plethora of new devices under the Zenfone 5 lineup. It also appears to come with features, such as Wi-Fi Direct and Miracast support.

The new phones are arriving just five months after the Zenfone 4 versions hit the market.
