According to the new price list released by the company on its official website, daily tickets for California Adventure, a Disneyland theme park located in Anaheim, 40 kilometers east of Los Angeles, vary in price, depending on daily demand.
Prices for Florida residents have also changed.
One-day prices to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida rose 2 percent to 4 percent, with tickets there now ranging between $109 and $129. That's a $2 bump over past year.
"Given the small percentage of guests that purchase a 1-day ticket at Walt Disney World, extending pre-published, date-specific pricing to multi-day tickets will further advance our efforts spread to attendance throughout the year", said Andrea Finger, spokeswoman for Walt Disney World.
The hike comes after Disney reported increased attendance at its theme parks in its first-quarter.
Walt Disney Co. raised admission prices to its theme parks and said it plans to introduce fixed-date ticketing in coming months to help reduce crowding at peak times. "Peak" tickets at these parks will run $122 for an adult and $116 for a child.
"Attendance at our domestic parks was up 6% in the quarter", said Christine M. McCarthy, chief financial officer of The Walt Disney Co. on the company's Q1 earnings call Feb.6, noting that "operating income was up 18%" over the prior year for its USA operations.
In October 2015, the Disneyland introduced flexible pricing at US parks as an incentive for guests to visit during less busy times. You pay more when the park expects bigger crowds because Disney is trying to steer you toward less-busy days to even its crowds through the year. The program is created to entice guests to visit the parks in the United States during less busy times of the year.
Officials said that the program would continue to evolve and adapt to guests' visiting habits.
