McKenna says nobody in his section was warned that Timberlake would be doing that as part of his performance. "Because it was so unexpected that you came down and because all of this has happened, I thought to myself, 'I really want to meet you properly, '" Timberlake said.

"I'll tell you what I want to do".

McKenna stated how much he admired Timberlake as a performer and that's when Timberlake gave Selfie Kid one of the biggest surprises he has ever received. "I would like to invite you and your family to the show", said Timberlake.

The teen burst into tears while thanking the pop star.

DeGeneres also presented McKenna with a New England Patriots VIP experience, courtesy of the National Football League, including tickets to a home game next season and four pre-game field passes.

This year's Super Bowl was noteworthy because it was a high-scoring game that was close until the underdog Philadelphia Eagles held onto their win against the New England Patriots in the final seconds... and also just because it's the Super Bowl.

In an interview from January, Timberlake opened up about that notorious Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction that took place while he performed with Jackson and admitted that he "stumbled" in the aftermath.

McKenna stopped by the Ellen show, wearing his Patriots jersey of course, and spoke about the moment that turned him into an instant meme. "I was there with him", he said of the selfie moment.

Ryan told Ellen how he got himself to Timberlake at the Minnesota game: "I pushed through". "Yeah, the memes, I've seen those", Ryan said with a smile.

McKenna has since gone viral, appearing on memes and gifs across social media. "My dad told me he was coming up so I had to push out there, but I had the video (on) when I was going out to Justin, and then I had the iPhone 6 and that thing is slow". He added, "and our second selfie together".
