The meltdown happened during a reading of McGowan's memoir courageous at a Barnes & Noble store in New York, according to the New York Post.

The former Charmed star, who is now 44, told the journalist and broadcaster she was assaulted as a teenager by a "very famous" Hollywood player who then dumped her on a street corner.

In a tweet, she said she had given "enough" to the cause and demanded an apology from Barnes & Noble.

This brings us back to Dier's second point, that trans women face more difficulties in life.

In July a year ago the Charmed star expressed her view about trans women on Ru Paul's podcast. There's an entire show called ID channel, a network, dedicated to women getting abused, murdered, sexualised, violated, and you're a part of that, too, sister.

People have always been critical about Rose's brand of feminism, which has been accused of only serving white cis women. McGowan announced on Twitter the same day that she was canceling all upcoming public appearances. You will not put labels on me or anybody. Again. And again. And again. "Don't you f*cking do that", she said, as Dier was being escorted out. "You do not put labels on me or anybody, step the f- back!" Throughout the doc, she refers to him only as "the monster", and when anchors say his name in clips of newscasts, it's digitally altered to sound like gibberish.

Brafman says Weinstein denies McGowan's claims.

"Do you understand what I have been through for 20 years?"

Dier, a survivor of sexual assault and rape herself, also spoke about how Barnes & Noble mistreatment her. Security misgendered Dier, and McGowan "said nothing to stop or correct them".

Additionally, Weinstein's remarks do not only undermine the accusations of McGowan but the numerous other women who have come forward with similar stories and accusations.

"What I do is for the f-ing world, and you should be f-ing grateful!"

McGowan cited the incident as the reason for abruptly canceling her tour, claiming the trans woman was an actor "paid to verbally assault a woman who has been terrorized by your system". Cause I know what I've done.

"I just have a different personality than you", she wrote.

She flagged Alyssa's marriage to CAA agent Dave Bugliari as problematic, saying, 'Do you think I don't know these people? There's not a network here devoted to your f-ing death. There's not advertisers advertising tampons as a camera goes lovingly up a girl's body as she's being f****** raped and strangled. Piss off. And until you can collect that f**king check, back up. In its first episode, she and fellow Weinstein-accuser Asia Argento met and recounted their experiences to one another in a an emotional scene. McGowan's team responded with their own statement, calling Weinstein's lawyer's words a "sad, pathetic old-fashioned sexist attempt to undermine obvious truth".

With that, the terse exchange escalated into a shouting match, with McGowan demanding the heckler sit down as her voice broke. "I don't know what it's like to come home from a war, but on paper.I can tell you it's a war", she said about feeling unsupported by her family over the holidays.
