Packers reportedly add DeShone Kizer in Damarious Randall trade with Browns

Damarious Randall to Cleveland

The former first-rounder joins a flurry of players headed to Cleveland on a busy Friday

Trades can not become official until the start of the new league year on March 14. They traded for wide receiver Jarvis Landry, quarterback Tyrod Taylor and cornerback Damarious Randall, per reports. He completed 53.6 percent of his passes for 2,894 yards, 11 touchdowns and 22 interceptions as a rookie.

Kizer was chosen 52nd overall in the 2017 National Football League draft by the Browns. Entering the 2015 NFL Draft, he was the top-rated free safety prospect, but Green Bay chose to move him to cornerback where he's spent most of his career.

McCarthy wasn't almost as supportive when he was asked about the mercurial Randall in his end-of-season press conference after Randall publicly criticized ex-defensive coordinator Dom Capers and he coaching staff at the end of a season in which Randall himself had his own issues.

Player reaction also included tons of eyes emojis.

. Adding him to the roster doesn't tip their hand should they have been looking at a couple players in the draft, like possibly Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward or Alabama free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

After the season, when asked about Randall, McCarthy did not mince words. He's got to clean his own house. He probably played the best football of his career, but then he didn't play the last two games. He rushed 77 times for 419 yards and five TDs. With the first and fourth overall picks in the 2018 NFL Draft, they are still positioned to snag premier prospects in April.

Kizer was going to have to earn a spot with the Browns, and he'll be in a similar situation with the Packers, who were forced to start Brett Hundley nine games last season after Rodgers broke his collarbone. "But I think we'd like to look at every option we can".
