The droning of bagpipes and shades of green as far as the eyes could see Saturday were among the sights and sounds of St. Patrick's Day parades in Oklahoma City. Besides serving as a celebration of all things Irish and the community's deep roots in Montreal, it also serves as a reminder to many that spring is right around the corner.

The governor introduced a bit of politics to the annual day of Irish pride, noting that Varadkar was an openly gay man at an event where gay and lesbian groups were once angrily banned.
Some people living in Boston's Irish neighborhood were not happy with the decision.
For many people who came out, it is something they look forward to doing with their family every year.
Many people said their favorite parts of the parade were the floats, music, and candy.
